Though loyal to Nalos, it would seem that Jolev is a bit neglected by its king, leaving its residents a little disgruntled;

Upon arrival, the people of Jolev are in hiding, for fear of the Giant Troll that has made itself known in the area and allegedly kidnapped Esther Dunegrass;

Standing alone in the town square, the mayor welcomes you to Jolev. “Sorry for this humble greeting,” he says, “but everyone is in hiding.” He gestures around, and you see that boards cover the windows of every shop but the blacksmith’s. After returning Esther safely home, the town returns to its usual boisterousness;

Grateful that you have returned the Dunegrass girl, the whole town turns out to celebrate. There is wine and song, good cheer, and ham — many, many varieties of the finest hams you’ve ever had the pleasure to taste.
