Tog is revealed to be quite well-read when interpreted by Gundur:

“He says, um, that he is eternally in your debt, among other things. I think he may be reciting poetry, some of the words are quite archaic, even by my standards. Clearly, he likes you.” - Gundur - Tome of Encounters (RPA-Tome-ADV5-5)

Though imposing in stature, Tog is a true gentle giant;

Tog thought of you as a dear soul, one to whom he owed his life, and he looked for every opportunity to repay your kindness.

Though a brute in battle, Tog was a kind spirit, loyal to his country and his friends. - Gate of Brizoor Waal (RPA-ADVF)

Attempting to open a sealed durgolium chest to no avail, Tog is frustrated when first encountered in the outpost at Blacklake:

• Engage the Dragul in combat:
  • Be overpowered, and Tarik will capitalize on your distraction, dispatching Tog.
  • Outmatch him:
    • End the Ogre.
    • Work to understand Tog's fearful mutterings while he at your mercy.
      • Succeed, and gain insight into the Dragul Invasion:
        • Warn Tog of Tarik's approach allowing him to flee.
        • Let Tarik eliminate another Dragul.
      • Fail, and Tarik dispatches him.
• Slay the invader, impressing Tarik Nowlin, Halfling rogue loyal to King Taron.
• Try and reason with the Ogre:
  • Succeed, and he will reveal to you the sympathetic motivations of the Dragul:
    • Stall, and allow Tarik to finish the job.
    • Warn Tog of Tarik's attack, giving him time to escape.
  • Fail, and Tog will lash out, patience run out.
    • Be pummeled, and Tarik will slay Tog.
    • Dispatch him, exceeding Tarik's expectations.

If you let Tog escape the outpost at Blacklake, you next find him on the road in Jolev, offering you some goods he has stolen. - Tome of Encounters (RPA-Tome-ADV2-5)

• Accept them, and you will receive a piece of armor from the Ogre, who swears fealty to you for sparing his life.
• Decline, and turn him away.

After coming across Tog outside Jolev, you meet him next in the exercise yard of Kulbak Prison, surrounded by Bugbears.

Tog smiles and shows you what he was hiding from the guards: the severed head of a Construct. He pushes it into your hands. A few of the Bugbears hiss at the idea of relinquishing their prize, but the Ogre snarls loudly, quickly settling the debate. - Tome of Encounters (RPA-Tome-ADV5-5)

He gives you the severed head of B-143.

If you slayed Tog at Blacklake, the Demon Elsifor unleashes his angry spirit on you to fight. - Tome of Encounters (RPA-Tome-ADV6-6)

If Tog survives, he fights against the Human Jeremy Duntum, aided by floating, multicolor spheres, and the Halfling Rose within a vault in Mikto, Plane of Secrets:

• If you side with the Dragul, you will fight alongside him:
  • If you defeat the opposition and are favored by the Ogre, he will greet you warmly. You claim the site, and find a green rune.
  • If you fall to the opposition, you stumble through a rift back to Elsifor's Tent at Brizoor Waal in defeat.

You may encounter a Shapeshifter in the Colosseum. Depending on your previous encounter with Tog, the Shapeshifter may take on his appearance, forcing you to fight him and his iron club. - Tome of Encounters (RPA-Tome-SQ1-180)
