Frogkin

Although spread throughout Nalos, many Frogkin consider Bogroot Swamp to be their home and live on the sandy shores of Sandhill Village.

They are an amphibious race. Though they have a reputation for politeness and timidity, many Frogkin also number among the fiercest warriors in Nalos. The elite armored warriors known as the bullfrogs, for example, can be found training in Bogroot (RPA ADV-6).

The Frogkin are able to produce croaking sounds that are difficult for others to imitate. Though most also speak Nalos Common, the Frogkin native tongue is tricky for outsiders to learn, and some traditional Frogkin names can be difficult for outsiders to pronounce in the intended way.

The Frogkin sided with Queen Gimnax in the Great War against the Dragul Alliance.

Frogkin have developed elaborate ceremonies, using bowls and other vessels to conduct their rituals.

They are especially reverent to their dead, preserving them in funerary urns to metamorphose into the incredibly durable material, ironstone;

The Frogkin bury their dead in iron urns packed with sand to protect their ancestors’ spirits, but nothing keeps the swamp out forever. When water leeches through iron, especially over a century or two, bones turn to ironstone, which the Frogkin then use to shape ceremonial weapons. - (BC-Artificer)

Frogkin can be pushed to the violence when one of their own has been wronged;

Though hard to find, Frogkin consider Bogroot Slugrat eggs to be a local delicacy;

Looking closer, you recognize it as the egg of a Bogroot Slugrat, a local delicacy. Though slugrats infest the local marshes, their nests are said to be hard to find. - Backstory Codex - Devoted (RPA-BC)

Because of their reclusive upbringing, Frogkin approach the world rather timidly, and interactions between them and other Races match accordingly.

A Frogkin woman infected by vampirism is encountered in Undercity. She has bound an animal with rope and is preparing to bleed it. - Tome of Encounters (RPA-Tome-ADV3-3)

• Tell the woman to untie the creature.
• Wait and watch what she does.

Things may escalate quickly, forcing you to choose to take her life or flea to save your own.

Arriving in Sandhill Village, you learn of a group of cultists that have imprisoned a creature within the giant mangrove tree. The phantom of the creature torments all who travel through the nearby swamp.

• If you are possessed by the ghost in the Forgotten Forest, you slay him without realizing it.

His face has been scratched with a blade and a strange symbol has been carved into his skin resembling a magical rune. You have no memory of the fight, but the crowd cheers your performance. - Tome of Encounters (RPA-SQ1-157)

• Show him mercy and let him live.
• Give him a warrior's death and turn him into ash.

If you ended the Frogkin, his compatriots will later confront you in the Training Area of the Colosseum.

If you let him live, he will give you his gold.

While mining beneath the mountains of Parsis, a glowing rock caught your attention. A Frogkin woman was trapped behind it. She had smooth white skin and eyes as black as tar. After releasing a swarm of locusts from her mouth, she vanished.
