A Dwarven outpost outside the Insectoid Hive, where various ores are mined. Mal'kanor are hired as workers in the mine, toiling alongside the Dwarves.

Being so close to the Hive, much of the structure has been weakened by the tunneling of the Insectoids. Dangerous cave-ins are unfortunately not uncommon.

The mine has multiple pathways throughout:

• One small path leads to a large tomb. It is piled floor-to-ceiling with the corpses of Insectoid bodies. The smell is nauseatingly sweet.
• Another pathway leads to the Sacred Caverns of the Insectoids.
• Other paths lead directly into the Hive.

• Borid
• Mal'kanor

When your party first enters the mine you discover that the left branch is blocked by a cave-in.

You follow a set of iron tracks through the mines until the tunnel forks. The left branch has been blocked by a cave-in. A few Dwarves frantically attempt to clear the debris. - The Hive (GS-ADV3)

If you have some red ichor, it will aid in clearing the rubble. Once freed, the Mal'kanor launch a violent uprising against the Dwarven company:

• Aid Borid and the rest of his crew against the Insectoids.
• Rally with the Mal'kanor laborers against their Dwarven oppressors.

Following the event the mine opens up for further entry and access to the Sacred Caverns.
