Bugbear Encampment

Located near Goldbelly Mountain and Redtooth Peak, the Bugbears have set up a small camp. A ring of rough homes made of timber, bone, and leather encircle a fire pit.

A small graveyard sits on the edge of the encampment. Instead of tombstones, piles of white rocks mark the final resting places of those Bugbear who lost their lives in the Great War.

The area near the encampment has been tainted by the mining of the nearby Dwarves in Lorkheim. Water supplies in the wells and streams have been rendered useless by their mining.

The Bugbear are less than welcoming when you enter their camp. They assume you are invaders and spies sent from the queen.

You recognize Yonlok from an earlier encounter in Sabek. Many of your previous decisions will dictate how welcoming he may be.

• Show strength to gain Yonlok's trust.
  • If you impress him, you will be welcomed as one of the Bugbear.
  • If not, they will chase you off in disgrace.
• Draw your sword against him.
  • Impress everyone, even Nayo, as you chase the Bugbear from their own camp.
  • Prove to be less than a swordsman and be chased off in disgrace.

Through some of your discussions, you will learn that not only have the Bugbear recently burned the village of Lorkheim in response to their “injustices”, but they also are planning to journey to the Frozen Expanse. They are intent on stopping Gulpax from creating her new weapon.

The encampment is placed under military control, with members of the Queen's Guard patrolling the area.
